Leonora Adidi is a Torres Strait Islander from the Sui-Baidham Clan of Bamaga and Saibai. She is a linguist, fluent in Kalaw Kawaw Ya and Yumplatok (Torres Strait Creole) and is passionate about preserving and revitalising Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture and heritage.
Leonora is experienced in various forms of research and she holds a Graduate Certificate in Indigenous Research Methodologies. Her market research work for Winangali has focussed on Indigenous people in Queensland and the Northern Territory and she is currently doing her own research for a Masters in Linguistics.
Previously, Leonora was employed as a lecturer in Linguistics and Interpreting at Batchelor Institute of Indigenous Tertiary Education in the NT. She also consults as an Interpreter and Translator in Kalaw Kawaw Ya and Yumplatok and as an Indigenous languages consultant.
